I live in Vancouver BC and was limited to what I could use my wood burning pizza oven for - mostly pizza. I had previously fashioned a crude grill with brick supports to straddle the fire. That design was pretty lame and messy with little control over temperature and a lot of mess.
That's changed now that I can use this handy rotating grill with ash collection/auxiliary charcoal pan. I have not yet tried it but look forward to a sunny day to give it a try. My oven is a La Piazza - "Piccolo' with a 24" W x 22" D x23.5" H hearth. (https://www.lapiazzawoodovens.com/shop/Piccolo-Wood-Oven-p102538474). The BBQ 500 fits nicely inside (I store it there when not in use). Looks like I can slide the BBQ 500 to the side and have easy access to maintain the fire in the hearth while cooking on the rotating grill.
Construction looks pretty solid for the application and appears to be easy to move allowing some control of the cooking temperature. Looks like we will be grilling a lot more often now!
