Now, you can make juicy rotisserie chicken, pork, turkey and more in your wood fired pizza oven! Made specifically for the Lisboa and Famosi Wood Burning Pizza Ovens, this rotisserie accessory allows you to cook and enjoy your favorite meats. These two Portuguese brick ovens come with a special hole in the back wall designed to accommodate the deep end of the spit.
In the back of these two pizza ovens is a metal cap insert where the end of the spit will rest. You simply skewer your favorite piece of meat, insert the end of the rotisserie in the back of the oven, close the pizza oven door with the rotisserie sticking out, and rotate as appropriate while it cooks your meat beautifully in your wood-fired oven.

Is this electric powered?
The rotisserie for the Famosi and Lisboa oven is not electric. It is a manual spit. You skewer your favorite piece of meat, insert the end of the rotisserie in the hole at the back of the Famosi or Lisboa oven, close the oven's dutch door with the rotisserie sticking out, and rotate as appropriate.
For a "typical roast" how often must the rotisserie be rotated?
For typical roasts, oven is usually set at least at 300°C and rotate every 10 minutes for approximately 40 min. You can do it at your own speed and temperature following other recipes you like
What is the length of this spit rod?
The spits are approximately 41" long. It is made for our taller models only- to fit a 39" depth oven.
Is it possible to connect a universal rotisserie motor to the spike?
Yes, we've had customers who have previously done it and they were able to customize their spits with a motor. However, unfortunately, we do not have any related information so we are not able to advise what will be needed or the process of how to do it. Typically, customers who do this are handy and have a general sense of mechanics.
