Does the peel need to be oiled on occasion to keep it from drying out?
You may apply a food grade mineral oil often. For maintenance after every use, never submerge or soak the peel in water, instead scrape food particles free with plastic spatula, clean remaining debris with a damp cloth, and wipe away any excess moisture and allow it to air dry.
